The Suwanee Reconstruction of the Month:
March 2006

Lower Reconstruction with K-7 Neuromuscular Diagnosis

Joe Fenski, owner of Fenski Automotive in Sugar Hill, GA, before his
neuromuscular lower reconstruction

Handsome Results: "My bite is comfortable and I don't worry about grinding through my teeth any longer, thanks to Dr. Williams"

Joe  before his K-7 Neuromuscular Diagnosis and Porcelain to Gold Crown Lower Makeover showing bite collapse, spacing, and severely worn lower front teeth. Note the curve of the occlusal plane where the posterior teeth have a "sway back" look.

Joe had his lower reconstruction primarily to avoid further root canals. After one of the lower incisors was ground through by the upper porcelain crowns and caused the need for a root canal, Joe sought reconstruction of his lower teeth.

The restoration of the lost vertical height is obvious. Because Joe was diagnosed with the K-7 Neuromuscular system, we have confidence that the new bite will be comfortable, durable and stable.

Porcelain crowns in a bruxer and grinder can lead to continuous shortening of natural enamel. Joe needed the posterior support in the back of his mouth to take the excess forces off of the lower front teeth.

Notice that the right central incisor has a hole in the top of the tooth...the result of an abscess that required a root canal.

This is what moved Joe to follow through on the recommendation that we had made earlier to complete his lower reconstruction and save his teeth.

Now Joe has strong, beautiful and comfortable teeth. The increased support of the molars and bicuspids as well as the cuspid protected lateral guidance insure that he will not wear his teeth as he had previously. He will still need to wear a professionally made dual laminate protective night guard to protect his new crowns and his natural teeth.
